About the Role
Niipaawi Strategies is an Indigenous –owned firm dedicated to advancing impactful public affairs and advocacy work. We are looking for a Consultant who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and committed to making a difference.

In this role, you’ll work on some of the most important issues shaping Canada today. You’ll collaborate with clients across sectors and levels of government and help Niipaawi create impact where it matters most.This is fast-paced, challenging work — but also deeply rewarding.
Preference will be given to candidates who self-identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Niipaawi team to align client service activities and maximize impact.
- Support the development and delivery of government relations and public affairs strategies.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with government stakeholders, industry partners, communities, and clients.
- Monitor and analyze political developments, current events, and policy trends across Canada.
- Draft high-quality materials including briefing notes, speaking points, correspondence, and presentations.
- Coordinate logistics for outreach activities, meetings, and events (scheduling, materials, and follow-ups).
- Conduct research and prepare policy analysis to support client decision-making.
- Develop and contribute to communication strategies, including digital content, press materials, and social media.
- Assist with management of Niipaawi’s web and digital properties.
- Ensure all work reflects the highest professional and ethical standards.
Qualified
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education or equivalent relevant experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in community organizing, politics, or government (municipal, provincial, federal, or Indigenous).

Assets
- Experience in grassroots organizing or membership-facing campaigns.
- Event planning and coordination experience.
- Familiarity with social media and website management.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous language.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle; willingness to travel.
